The Government has been providing funding to provide quality primary PE and school sport. Each school will receive £16,000 plus an additional £10 per pupil for the next two years – for Moorfield Primary this will equate to £17,095. See the chart below for a spending breakdown and the impact it has had.
As a school we already provide high quality Physical Education and sport, and our intention is that this funding will further enhance the existing provision in school.
The Governors agree that the funding must be used so that:
Our funding in 2020/21 will be used in the following way:
Swimming- 71% of Year 6 left school having met the standard in 2019. We are working to ensure that this number is 100% by 2022. Swimming assessments for 2020 did not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be achieved by swimming lessons happening all year round, with the aim of children being able to start swimming lessons in Year 3.
Download the Sports Premium Strategy Statement for more information.
Swimming is not only a vital life skill, it is also a compulsory part of the National Curriculum. All children by the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) should be able to:
|Swim 25m unaided||12/17= 70.6%|
|Use a range of strokes confidently:||12/17= 70.6%|
|Perform safe self rescue:||13/17= 76.5%|
