Welcome to Year 6

Hello and welcome to Year 6’s class page.

Maths

Our most recent focus in maths has been decimals and a lot of the children have struggled with  comparing and ordering decimals (up to 3dp) & multiplying and dividing by 10/100 and 1000 so this is something that can be worked on at home.

Times tables

The tables we focus on in year 6 are from 1-12. We have created a document below with lots of times tables games to practice. Please use your timetables books which are sent home weekly to continue learning these too.

Spellings

At the bottom of the page we have also attached the Year 5&6 statutory spelling list. We included a copy of this in the home learning packs. Choose 10 spellings each week and practise them. Do you know what they mean? Can you use them in a sentence? Can you think of any anytonyms or synonyms for your word?

A message from your teachers:

We hope you and your families are all looking after each other and staying safe. We will keep the webpage updated through the coming weeks. Remember, not all learning is in a maths or English lesson! Get outside in your gardens, look for insects or flowers, do some baking or cooking in the kitchen, help out your family members with any jobs they might have, create some fantastic art work – we can’t wait to see them! Keep yourself healthy and busy!
