Hello and welcome back to Year 6’s class page.

 Maths

Over the last few weeks we asked you to work on comparing and ordering decimals (up to 3dp) & multiplying and dividing by 10/100 and 1000. This time, we’d like you to revise everything we have learnt on fractions – and there was LOTS!! Can you remember how to simplify fraction or convert them into mixed number fractions? How about adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividung fractions? Use some of the websites below to have a go!

Times tables

The tables we focus on in year 6 are from 1-12. We have created a document below with lots of times tables games to practice. Please use your timetables books which are sent home weekly to continue learning these too.

Spellings

At the bottom of the page we have also attached the Year 5&6 statutory spelling list. We included a copy of this in the home learning packs. Choose 10 spellings each week and practise them. Do you know what they mean? Can you use them in a sentence? Can you think of any anytonyms or synonyms for your word?

We have added a new list of exciting websites and resources on the main ‘Kidszone’ page for you to try as well as these ones below…

A message from your teachers:

Hello! Where did those last 4 weeks go?! We hope you and your families are still staying safe and looking after each other. It’s been lovely to see what you have been getting up to at home, please keep sending your pictures in to us using facebook or sending them via email.

Over the next few weeks the weather is hopefully going to continue to be glorious! We’d love to see you out in your gardens or exploring the local area with your family members during your 1 hour daily exercise. Have you been trying Mr Darbyshire’s weekly PE challenges? Give them a go!

We hope to see you very soon – stay safe!! Mrs Hughes, Mrs Johnson & Mrs Cox
